How about an American X-Box? They are pricy but I like mine. Shop around and you can get them much cheaper than you think.

I'm an oil field guy that spends a few a weeks at a time on the job site away from home, and I have to transport a lot of crap with me. My job doesn't require a ton of tools, but I have enough stuff where the underside of my rear seats (Scab) no longer fits the bill. I also have a soft, rolling tonneau cover.

Here's what I want: A locking, relatively weather proof storage solution that I can mount or stabilize to the side of the truck bed right by the tailgate. The rolling cover has turned me off to the idea of an under the rail chest that would mount at the front of my bed because of the time I would have to spend to unroll the tonneau every time I wanted to access it, get what I need, roll it back and secure the velcro on the sides.

What can you suggest? If you have a brand that is reputable or even a specific product that would really help! I also have a Ford drop in liner if that makes any difference.

Thanks!
This is what I am using for my tools doing pipeline integrity inspections in North Dakota. Put it right inside the tailgate and with the gate closed, secure it fairly snug against the gate with a ratchet strap around the back hooked to the tiedowns on each side. put a self tapping screw thru the strap on each end of the plastic box to keep it from slipping down. Close the tonneau and you are ready to rock and roll. Open the gate, slide the box out, pop open the top. When you are done, close the box, lock it if you want, slide it back in, and close the gate. The strap will hold it securly in place against the gate. This works great and stays in place when 4 wheeling out to every job site so far.
