lol....seems a lot of us had this XLT vs FX4 debate! For me personally it came down to the center console. I prefer the shifter here and the rear air was the icing on the cake.
NOW....having said that let me share some personal observations from a recent vacation trip, first one in my new F150 after trading in my Suburban.
The center console DOES take up a lot of space where I used to store some stuff in my Suburban. One doesn't think about this too much until one doesn't HAVE these little nooks and crannies. In the Suburban, my wife would put her book bag and the 'boat bag' on the floor area where the 4 X 4 shifter was, it fit perfect. No such place in the FX4.

Default Well I pulled the trigger...

I ended up buying the FX4 this weekend. The center console and rear air were the options we couldn't live without. I would post pics but the dealer has it to put tint on and seal it. I will try to post pics soon but I love it already. They gave me a FX2 as a loaner while they fix up my FX4 and I can already tell I am going to have this truck for a long time to come.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am not sure who said it, but they were right, no matter which one I chose, I would love it.

I don't think you could go wrong with either choice. I was at the same crossroads as you. I think I should have just gone with the FX4 or a Lariat because there are a few tweaks to the interior of my XLT chrome I want to add. (Center console shift, navigation, rear view camera). Although these add ons may cost less than purchasing either of these other two models, it makes me second guess my purchase. (just a little...) Enjoy your new ride!

I have them both (in F150 and 250), and I have to say, I like my FX4 A LOT!...But, I have the preferred package on my F150 4X4 with the skidplates and limited slip rear axle, so it has all of the same mechanical features (except the Rancho shocks) as my F250 FX4.

your fx4 is a completely different truck. 600hp 6.4l f250. Not even a close comparison lol.

For me the extra bump in price just wasnt worth it. While the center console is nice, it reminds me of all the cars ive owned, doesnt feel as spacious. I like the bigger space inside without the center console, feels more like a truck size wise.

Its all personal preference and what you can afford at the end of the day.

I went with the FX4 primarily because I wanted black cloth interior and the FX4 was my only option!
