Default Tried a launch manually shifting

On the way home from work found a good flat spot on a back road and turned off the TC, dropped it in first, mashed the brake and gave it some gas to get it loaded. Let the brake go and wow its been awhile since I've had a v8 so the grin on my face was well s*#t eatin. Understand I was driving a stock '91 Honda CRX DX before getting this truck. '09 SCREW Platinum 5.4 6AT 4x4. 103k miles. Loving it.

I always get mad wheel hop when I try "lighting them up" taking off at a green light.

Default Broke loose briefly

My tires are not in the greatest shape but I think the road construction actually help with the traction somewhat. Kinda like chip seal.

get a tune on it.

My 06 5.4 was a sad sad dog and i put the tune on it and it dropped about 2 seconds 0-60 to a 8.1. Not viper slaying territory but it did give it some fun factor. I played with it a little more but don't remember how much quicker I got it.

Yep that 5.4 is a torque mobster and still has more low end power than the new f150 v8. But then again, that 5…4 was designed for a truck, unlike the current v8.

Thinking about the SCT iTSX(?) Since I always have my phone and like the concept. Not looking for anything radical and don't plan on any major mods performance wise nor do I want to change tire size.

Eta may pick one up from stage 3.

My wheelhop got bad enough I broke an axleshaft. Sticky prepped track surface did it in. Have a set of Caltracs now. Not my first choice but whatever.

Axle-hop on 09-14 trucks are especially an issue because of Ford's mystery move to use rear shocks pointed in the same direction. Why? I don't know. But the 2015 has a staggered shock setup like every other pickup, and axle-hop is all but gone, and the rear end is much more stable over bumps.
