Go buy it now before somebody else gets the dream truck you want. She's a beauty. It will only cost you more if you wait.

+1 to EcoBlue's comments above, I think he nailed it! BTW, can't tell for sure from the pic, but does that '11 have same wheels as the '09? Seven spoke chrome clad?

You better jump on it while you can. The 12's aren't going to be any different except for the color.

I know that ain't helping your temptation... but just sayin'
LoL

I read that little tid-bit from another site and as posted by another member a couple of weeks ago; however, I am not 'buying' it as maybe other than something of a very temporary nature.

* The Nav system is a very popular option, especially for those who buy trucks and use this type vehicle for other than trips to the market.

* Ford and the dealerships make a lot of profit off of this option and I cannot see them going a whole model year w/o it to offer to buyers, and maybe abdicating some market share to other brands, along the way.

* The only reason it was being stopped for the remainder of this M/Y and then as stated, into the new M/Y, is due to a parts/component shortage due to the Japan earthquake issue and aftermath. In that regard, Ford is more than capable of either seeking a new supplier to 'bridge' the current situation, and/or assisting the current supplier to ramp up production from an economic standpoint.

Bottom line, I do not see the Nav system being impacted past the end of the summer or early fall at the latest.

Last, my lovely wife took a look at it just this afternoon and while she loves the new black color, she doesn't like the 'pale' (washed out) simulated wood trim within the interior doors and dash and is aware there is so much dissatisfaction with it, that they might offer something different on the interior in '12.

I am going to think about it another 24 hours or so--their sales have really slowed in the truck department this month--and then make a final decision; but I am still leaning strongly to just waiting a couple of more months and then doing a factory order. Maybe by then I will know too, for sure, if they will offer the 36 gal tank with the EB, and have some other noteworthy changes, such as we have consitently seen, from the '09 to the '10 and with the '11, which is in its last few weeks of production.

Having said all of this, I do understand the argument about the end of model year rebates and incentives which they now have and which will be factored into our final decision. One way or the other, I am sure I will be happy in the end, just as I am still happy with the beautiful truck I am now driving; just wish it had some more 'stuff' and the EB motor.

Thanks all.

The navigation radio is not available in 2012 because Ford is switching to the My Ford Touch in the F150's. The system is currently available in the Explorer and Focus (I think the Taurus too???). Navigation is built in to the system and is "turned on" at the factory if you order it. My son has a 2012 Focus and it is really nice!!! Much cooler than a "nav radio".

Hi first time poster here currently serving in Afghanistan. I get back in a couple weeks and have pretty much made my mind up I want the f-150. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas what the rebates might be for August? I'm in love with this truck and it looks like the tranny and steering issues have been cleared up in the trucks most recently built. Thanks for your help and sorry for the thread jack.

Hey, you will never have to worry with one of my threads, go ahead and hi-jack all you want!! Welcome home soon!!!

You will love your new F150; some of the problems you read about are in reality a very small percentage of the entire fleet. My '09 has been the best ride I have ever owned and it is amazing in every aspect, plus they just look so damn good!!

As to the rebates, they change every few weeks, and also are dependent on the region/city you are in and the specific model truck. When I bought mine in '09, the XLT had the best rebate, with an extra grand for financing with FMC. Also, what was available here in NorCal, was not the same as what was offered in the SoCal zip codes. You can go on line to the Ford site and navagate to current offers and enter you zip code for the latest info, but it does change from week to week. Hope this helps.

Be Safe!!

life is too short pull the pin get the truck. I was in the same boat as you. was going to wait until 2012. Had the expedition in for service and saw a Red Candy FX screw. The model run at that color was done for the year. so I made some calls and drove off in that truck that day.
