Default Traction Control Issues - Ford will not fix

I have posted on here a few times about my traction control issues. Basically what happens is the traction control engages when I am making a turn and hit a small bump. I.E. Pulling into my driveway. I have a LT tire in stock size and a two inch level kit... What ford told me today is they cannot and will not fix my problem due to my mods. At first I played dumb because last time I came in I came in prepared with my research and the TSB which would fix my problem. That got me nowhere. Today I taked with a different service tech and did not act like I knew what was going on. When that got me nowhere I proceeded to tell him that I was a member on a few F150 websites and had researched the traction control issue with my truck. Then I showed him the TSB that I was told by someone on this forum about. It also got me nowhere. They are refusing to touch because of my minor mods. Am I screwed or are they bull****ting me. You alls imput is greatly appreciated. Matt.

Samething happened to me when my clutch went out in a brand new EVO IX SE. They refused to fix it because I installed an aftermarket BOV. I think you might be stuck with the bill, it can't hurt to call Corporate to see where that will get you. Also call around to other dealerships near you and ask them.

Wouldn't they have to prove your mods are causing the problem? Read the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, might help.

I think it is common for a leveling kit to mess with the traction control. (not that this is your issue) Thats the only thing that steered me away from a level with larger tires. These trucks are just too smart nowadays..... I agree with Pongadong though. Check with another dealer.

And then what do you do if they say it is caused by the mods? Chances are you dont have the engineering background to prove them wrong.

I'm not saying you're wrong because what you are saying is the way it is supposed to work but reality says they have the lawyers and engineering resources to make it rather difficult for you to prove them wrong. (FWIW, until a few years ago, it was illegal to alter the suspension on any ABS equipped vehicle in Maine...no lifts, no drops. Now you can do it but technically, it has to be an 'engineered' kit and you have to install the entire kit. Makes me wonder, if I'm a licensed mechanical engineer, can I install whatever I want?).

OP, I would mention the provisions in Magnusson-Moss and if they still refuse, go up the chain to corporate.

I have a friend with a Tuscany conversion, it has a leveling lift and 33" . It has the same problem. It goes in next week. I'll try and update with what the dealer does as they are forced to honor the factory warranty bc the conversion is a dealer option

Like I said might help. Its the way I'd go but I have no mods to my truck yet. Like you said it would be difficult to prove them wrong, unless you had another dealer check it out too.

It is a common thing. There is a freeway on ramp by my house that when you enter it there is a bump. This bump causes the back end to lighten/lose contact with the ground momentarily if you are going over 20mph. The result is that my traction control kicks in for a second. I mean it sucks but is the TCS activation really causing that much of an issue? Also where is the TCS engaging? For me it is the rear tires so those are not leveled/lifted so that invalidates Ford's argument. You modified the front suspension and the rear is where the tcs is engaging. If it is engaging on the front I guess you are just gold plated f*cked...

Thanks guys. I will look into the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. The TCS engages in the front tires. Its not a huge issue but it just aggravates me. I am sure it is because of the level kit. But I think my truck looks so much better leveled. I wonder how my truck will do if I decide to take off the level kit and do a 4" Rough Country suspension lift and a 34-35" tire. Will it be worse?
