Default TPMS Sensors again - sorry

I know there are a bunch of threads on this subject, and I think I have read all of them and can't find an answer. I replaced my tires and rims back in August 22. At that time I installed brand new Motorcraft sensors TPMS12 D38T-1A-A80-AA. The sensors are working, I can read them with my TPMS tool, so can my neighbor with his tool. The truck on the other hand (2011 F150 extended cab) cannot. I/we have tried several times to get them activated to the truck. We have done the brake, ignition, combo over and over and get to the trail left front with out a problem. Tried my Autel TS501 and can't get pass this stage. Tried a Relearn tool TPMS-19/8C2Z-1 with the same results. My truck will not relearn or cannot read these sensors. I am at my wits end. What am I doing wrong? Are they the wrong sensor? Am I not rubbing my belly and patting my head right? I even bite the bullet and took it to a shop to have them reset them with the same results except my wallet was a bit lighter.

My next step in to turn them off in Forscan, but I really don't want to do that unless that will clear everything and I can start again. Any suggestions?

Thanks, John

sounds exactly like what my mom's surburban did when they set the tpms to the wrong frequency. The truck wouldnt see them, a scanner set to pick up any TPMS would see them but when set for that specific year/make/model, couldn't see them. I would be looking into that part number.

Sorry I had a typo in the part number TPMS12 DE8T-1A180-AA (I have corrected it). They broadcast at 315mhz according to my TPMS toll.

What’s the truck doing/saying that indicates they aren’t communicating with the truck?

Did the sensors in your old wheels work? Did you get rid of them?

Do you have a TPMS failure alarm message now?

The only conclusion I can come to is that the sensors aren't correct for the truck. Do you have a receipt for the purchase of your new TPMS sensors? The TPMS12 should be a Ford part number 9L3Z-1A189-A. [edit: saw your post, DE8T-1A180-AA is also listed for TPMS12 in some places]

Do you have a picture of the TPMS sensors on your wheels? The 2015+ trucks used a 315MHz sensor that is incompatible.

These will fit your truck. I've had them in my 2014 over 2 years now. No problems at all getting them to work.

MORESENSOR Signature Series 315MHz TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor 4-Pack | Preprogrammed for Select 200+ American Brand Models | Replacement for 9L3Z-1A189-A | Clamp-in | NX-S025-4 (amazon.com) MORESENSOR Signature Series 315MHz TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor 4-Pack | Preprogrammed for Select 200+ American Brand Models | Replacement for 9L3Z-1A189-A | Clamp-in | NX-S025-4 (amazon.com)

I don't know the difference is, but this won't fit my 2020 Explorer even though both are 315 MHz.

I replaced a set in 2017 (Part no. 9L3Z1A189A for 2009-2014) and had no issues. You said you had the TPMS tool which is also required.
Even if you did order the correct ones perhaps they sent the wrong ones because nothing like that has ever happened before.

I go through the setup function and get to the "train LF" and then nothing.

Yes the sensors in the old wheels worked. I sold the wheels, tires and sensors, so I no longer have them.
Yes I have the receipt. It was an Amazon purchase and beyond the return date.
This is what I bought.

I have an AUTEL TS501 and this tool
TPMS Sensor tool TPMS Sensor tool
Neither worked to train these sensors. Both part numbers are listed as interchangeable.

Marshallr thank you very much for the link. These worked like a champ. Set one in the box on top of the wheel, put the truck in learn mode and walked around with the JDIAG tool in my hand. Touched each box and pushed the button and Bob is your uncle after for beeps my sensor training was complete. Broke the tires down, inserted the new TPMS and every thing is good. No more light.

Those first set were off brand using a Ford pic. Scam artists. Contradicts right in the 2nd line.
