Default TPMS Compatability

I'm looking to get a set of 2020 Raptor Takeoff wheels and tires to replace my stock set. Does anybody know if my 2013 will be able to read the TPMS sensors that are already installed in those wheels?
From the searching I have done it looks like the frequency is the same still between the two versions but just wanted to make sure.

Nope, you'll need a set made for your year truck to replace them with. Frequency is the same but the protocol is different.

Do you know if the ones from my stock wheels fit in the raptor wheels?

They should but if yours are original I'd replace them due to battery life. They only last about 7 years. Unless you have your own tire machine and balancer like I do. That way you could replace them as they die out. If you have to pay someone to replace them then I'd get new.

Everyone always posts they last about 7 years, however, mine are original and approaching 13 years.

Ford's specs not mine or anyone else's. Perhaps Ford is leaning on the conservative side?

They sleep when not being used- so it's not just time based. The more miles you drive it, the faster they will drain the battery/need replacement.

Most people average around 12K to 15K miles a year, so after 7 years, Ford would expect the transmitters would have have operated for 85K to 100K miles. How many miles are on your 13 year old sensors?

I just turned the TPMS system off altogether on my truck, I don't need it.

Should be able to activate them using the instructions in the owner's manual.

As for brand, STRONGLY recommend Motorcraft. *new* can be had from ebaY® that are reasonably priced (meaning - less $$$$). *Over the past 10-years have purchase several sets from various sellers and had no issues. Just be sure to check the seller's feedback rating.

Gen'12 versus gen'13 TPMS sensor differences ...

As per Motorcraft ... batteries are designed to have an estimated life of 10 years or 150,000 miles.
