Default Tow package question

Hey guys, new member here and new F150 owner. This is a great site and so far loving my 2013 F150. The truck is an XL, super cab, 4WD, 3.7.

I'm trying to figure out if it has factory tow package. It has a factory hitch with 7 pin and 4 pin connections. It also has a long, thin, external cooler in front of the radiator. What I don't understand is, I have the window sticker and it says nothing about tow package or tow hitch under options or standard features.. The dealer had another truck just like this one that did not have any hitch at all. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I might should start a new thread or post this in an existing 3.7 thread, but I am amazed at the power of this V6. I just got rid of a 5.7 Tundra and had a 8.1 K2500 before that. I am completely satisfied with the power, it's really amazing.

OK......I don't think that Ford puts the 3.7 in the 4WD, do they?
Do you perhaps mean that you have the 3.5 EcoBoost?
If you have the huge factory "dumbo" mirrors that extend, then you likely have the Max Tow package. If you have the factory brake controller without those mirrors, you likely have the basic tow package.
Double check your window sticker again as one of those should be listed.

You can get a 3.7 in a 4WD.

I (obviously) did not know that.....seems to me that you would not be "amazed" at the power of the 3.7 in a nearly 3 ton vehicle ---- but if he's happy, that's all that counts.

I guess it's all relative..but a 5.7 tundra is no slouch to compare to a 3.7L. My mom has an MKX with the 3.7 in it and the power is awesome..I've only driven 3.7's in the trucks for a short time and they were certainly adequate..but certainly not amazing.

The 101A Equipment Group adds all of the options included in the Trailer Tow Package. The trailer brake controller is NOT included in the Trailer Tow Package. It is a $230 independent option.

So, check your window sticker for 101A Equipment Group. That would explain why there is no mention of any Trailer Tow Package.

As for the 3.7L engine, it is more capable than the old 4.6L V8. I had a '97 F150 with a 4.6L which I used to tow up to 6,000 lbs without a problem many times. At the same time, it cannot be compared to a Toyota 5.7L.

Thanks for the responses guys. Buy "amazing" I meant, I was amazed at that kind of power coming out of a little V6. If it were not for the less than pleasant sound, I would think it had a V8.. I did a lot of research before buying. At first I planned to get the EB, then the 5.0 and finally after much research decided to look at the 3.7.. At the end of the day, 302HP is 302HP, no way around it. So, I really should not be that surprised. I remember not too many years ago when 300HP was a lot of power. However, I have yet to tow with it, I'm not expecting to be quite as impressed with that. But I don't tow often, and when I do I have an old 85' one ton, so no big deal there.

I'm just trying to figure out why there is no mention of Tow Pkg or Tow hitch anywhere on the window sticker. I can see a dealer adding a hitch, but not a 7pin/ 4pin harness and aux cooler and hitch without adding to the price.
