I had the same question. Didn't want to end up with a 3 1/2' box...

Ended up with a tonneau cover with a toolbox built in underneath it that also folds out of the way.

Works great so far; best of both worlds.

Im having the same dilemma. I've had the polished full size boxes on all my trucks. Now that I went with the black and chrome look I am looking for alternatives. In the full size boxes, I always ended up filling them up with crap that I never needed in there. Now ask yourself if you do the same. I would and want to go with something below the bed. That's my opinion.

Do you have pictures of this? I already own it from my last truck but could sell it and put the money towards a bakflip or extang. This one is a shorter box than my last one and I did want it to look less like a work truck.

Ya it always starts out neat and organized, then I get to a point where I just through things in there. Although it's better in there than in my back seat

They need to make a tool box that fills in the front and rear of the fender wells but remains below the bed rails. That would be awesome. Oh yeah and still be affordable.

I like the no toolbox look. I went with an inside the bed flush mount toolbox. It's all steel instead of aluminum and powder coated gloss black. kinda pricey, but well worth the look. Here's some pics. As you can see, you can't even see the box inside the bed, I love it. They do make bed boxes that fit the rear fender well area's but the storage room is almost nothing.

I got it from Home Depot actually. You have to go on their website and order it. I just had it shipped to the closest Home Depot to me for free and went and picked it up when it came in. It's made by Tradesman. The best thing is that the Tradesman Logo was just a sticker and peeled right off giving me a clean black box. This is the 60" model.
