Default Tire recommendation

Hey all, I'm getting close to needing new tires (27K on the Pirellis that came from the stealer). Mostly road miles with a little snow from time to time. I'm not looking at doing any off-road adventures. Recommendations?

If you're looking for an all round great tire with an aggressive tread but isn't an all terrain tire, I'd recommend the Cooper Zeon LTZ.

I've got them and love them.

Plus they won't break the bank.

I just changed the OE Wranglers at 42K. I replaced them with Dunlop Rover HT's. I have run these tires in the past on my Expedition and Escape. They are great in the snow and they wear like iron. Nice and quiet around town and on the highway.

I have about 40k on my pirellis right now, and should be able to get about 50k before they need replaced. I will be going with Michelin LTX M/S2. They are one of the top rated tires out there, and come with a 70k warranty. People even report an increase in gas mileage.

Bfg 275/60/20 rugged Terrains. Nice ride and tread design.

Either of the above would be fine. You would probably do the best with a more h/t tire than an a/t tire.

ltx m/s2, or discoverer ht, or wrangler sra, etc. in the stock size are all good choices.

Lot of tire opinions on here thoguh, so take all the suggestions with a grain of salt

I just got Michelin LTX-AT 2's and like them a lot. Pricey but should last a long time.

Yes, I knew when I posted that tire selection is as personal a thing to some as truck color. When I searched e forums I couldn't find a thread about which tires people liked and why.

Good input so far. Thanks, everybody!

Good recommendation. How's the road noise?

For my 20's I run Falken STZ04. They're an inexpensive tire and have no road noise surprisingly. Great feel and handling too. They do really well on the highway and should last for a while. I'm getting great wear out of them and I'm quite extensively modded with a very heavy foot
