Default Tire pressure system

I have a 2012 xlt and I just recently got a set of take off stock wheels from a guy on Craigslist. I drove about 20 minutes to a place and on my way back about halfway I got the fault message. I checked all the tire pressures they are fine. I didn't pair the sensors in anyway was I supposed to. How do I do that. If they don't even have the sensors how do I clear the message.

If they don't have the Sensors the light will stay on. Not sure if you can turn them off with Forscan or not.

If the "set of take off stock wheels from a guy on Craigslist" are from a gen'13 F-150 (2015+) the TPMS sensors are incompaible with your gen'12 F-150 TPMS system and no amount of setting/resetting is possible. You will either have to swap-in your sensors -OR- opt for new TPMS-12 sensors.

Given that your sensors are 6 years old and that the battery life is ~7years, would recommend *new*.

You can turn off the warning with FORScan. I do that with my winter tires that don't have sensors. I have a 2011 Screw.

It was from a 2014.The tires have been changed I know this because some idiot put the right front tire on the side without the white lettering but the rest has white lettering. The error went away. I guess unplugging my phone charger worked like some YouTube videos said.

It will come back on. You need to buy new sensors.

Battery life on the sensors is rated at 5-10 years, mine were 7 and I was starting to get almost monthly warnings. I replaced mine when I had new tires and wheels installed. I had someone give me a Ford TPMS tool ($20-40 ebay and several on-line parts stores) and used it to program my new sensors as per the "standard ignition" procedure. I have heard you are supposed to reprogram them every time you rotate your tires but have not actually confirmed that info, now that I have a tool I may just start doing that.

I can confirm that fact, one may not get an error right away but it will eventually. In my case I replaced all my oem wheels with aftermarket wheels also the sensors. I drove my truck for almost 2 years with no error message. Then one day it popped up and would not go away until I retrained the system.

My commute is less than 2 miles on a daily basis so I'm thinking that is why it took so long to register the fault. (Swag)

With FORScan I know it will show individual tire pressures (done it). Can it reprogram after a tire rotation? I've never thought of this until now. I rotate my tires every spring when the snows come off. No sensors in the snows.

Are you supposed to reprogram after rotation on stockers only or is this only for aftermarket? I’ve rotated mine and never had an issue or warning. Only when I aired down 3 years ago cus I had aired down.
