UPDATE FROM OP:
Drove the truck a few miles each on 3 drive cycles over 2 days. 2 of them everything was back to normal. No fault message, cruise control worked when engaged, although I was driving in town and didnt use it except to test. Then well into the 3rd drive cycle the hill descent not available (or fault - cant remember) message came up, throttle response problems started, and cruise would not engage - same symptoms. No wrench light. I drove to an Auto Zone and did the OBD scan: NO CODES.
Haven't done a reset yet as suggested above. And haven't inspected for wiring/connector problems yet. We are in an RV park and I have other activities going on.
