Default Thoughts on LED tailgate light bar.

I was behind another black F150 the other day and it had a LED light bar below the tailgate. I thought it looked sharp. Anybody running one of these? Do you like them?

Yep - I have a Pacer Outback (60" rigid model). Plug-and-Play into the 4-pin connector for the trailer lighting. Take your tailgate off when you install it to make installation much easier.

I've had the Recon Xtreme Amber Scanning lightbar for 1 1/2 years now. I have had zero problems with it and think it goes well with my LED tail light.

Thumbs up

The second day I had my truck I was almost rear ended. At that point, I wanted to make myself as visible as possible!

I have the Recon 'Line of Fire' tail light bar and have also added Recon's new LED taillights. There's no way you cannot see the back end of my truck now! Definitely worth the upgrade!

Same here! I think its one of if not the best one on the market, it also has the white lights for reverse. Ive only had mine 6 months so far though, but I have Led tails too, looks great together!

I had one on my old truck. I liked it a lot. For this truck i might go with a shorter strip right in the middle tho.

I have the full width 5 wire with backup lights. It is invisible until you turn on your lights or hit the brakes / turn signals. I get positive comments on it all the time. I bought it to increase visibility because its only a full sized F150 and you know that people have trouble seeing it from behind. But not any more

I've got the Extreme by Recon, and it works great, although it is my 6th one.
Yup it took 6 of em to get one to last, (the first 2 were the non scanning turn versions).

I have to admit, Recon stands beside their product , the sales rep had no issue sending me new ones. The last two, he did not want the returns either.

I do know what seems to cause it. They kept losing their seal and getting moisture in them, then shorting out. Maybe the Michigan winters are too harsh, although I see others on the forum from with inclement conditions too, and have not had problems.

So far the latest one is working great. I just had to make the 12 volts switched, when I had it constant, the LED's stayed partially lit at times, even with the truck off.
