FX2/4 used to be a trim level sandwiched between the XLT and Lariat. That package was today's equivalent of combining the special edition sport package (which isn't common) and the FX4 package.
To build your FX4 with luxury package truck today you would have to start with a Lariat, add the Special Edition Sport package, and then FX4 package.
FX4 package today is only skid plates, locking rear, descent control, and floor mats.
Basically, the FX packages used to be a short cut to a really cool truck with a lot of options without being near as expensive as the equivalent today. Today you can have an FX4 package on a steel wheel, black bumper, base model XL. The sticker on the bed now only means you added an inexpensive package with several items.
