Since I have a bakflip I do not have to velcro the bed rug mat down. My wife hates when I buy stuff for my truck but even she has commented several times that the bed rug mat was a good idea.
X2..I did same thing..Just got my new truck and had it line-x'd and then bought the bedrug mat and tailgate cover..best of both worlds..mat comes out very easily to clean or whatnot. need to buy the correct version though. they have one for drop in liner and then one specifically for no liner/spray in liners..this one has ridges on bottom that line up with the ridges in the bed of the truck.. I paid $100 for the mat and $40 for the tailgate cover..

My 2010 came with it when I bought it 6 months ago. Not sure how old it was but looked new. I drove it for 3 months or so uncovered. After getting wet it would dissipate water and dry pretty quickly. I never noticed any smells/water retention.

I do have to open the cover (Peragon) a day or so after it rains otherwise it will hold it now; I assume this would be the case with any cover not completely sealed.

I never knew about the BedRug prior to buying my truck, but I would definitely buy one in the future. For my needs, which includes camping, light hauling, box/clean hauling, it's perfect.
