Default Things to watch for when offroading

Hey been enjoying the last few weekends offroading with my
2013 fx4 5.0L V8/SCT tuner
3.73 gears
35x12.50x20 nitto trailgrapplers
6inch BDS lift

As anyone had any problems offroading like issues that gave cone up from offroading that I should either watch for or check. .?

Just asking cause I know that the 5.0L have more then enough power at the same time turning 35 through mud and rough hilly terrain may be hard on the truck. And I want to make sure I'm doing my part to keep the veichle maintained while still having fun.. I didn't put 35 and a 6inch lift for it to be a pavement princess :p

Yea, I bottomed out my truck once on a rock and ripped the wiring for the evap canister off. $350 repair. Good thing I paid extra for all those off road shields!

Honestly, if you are worried about snapping a shaft, you should have stepped up to a superduty. Never understood why people try to lift a half ton. Half ton axles always look so wimpy next to oversized tires.

If you hear a noise, and it's safe to do so, stop. Get out and see what is causing it. Take your time with obstacles and if you are unsure or feel Uneasy, backup and find a different route.

Once you are done offroading get out and give it a good once over. If all looks good your gtg.

Your going to want to relocate your diff breathers somewhere higher for water crossing. If your in the rocks try to always have a spotter, destroyed my front drive shaft that way. When I go, I keep all the windows down and am always listening. No stereo, just exhaust sounds and my gf screaming at me to slow down. If you hit a surprise rough patch or do something unexpectantly you need to stay calm and in control. Oh and air down your tires, it's a lot harder to get stuck that way. Other than that have fun and enjoy the ride.
