Listen close on first cold startup for timing chain slack. Then take it on a long drive. Get it good and warm and listen for any phaser noise at idle and at low rpms driving. I have an 09 and it had timing chain slack so i pulled it apart and replaced the timing components but thought the phasers werent bad. But now they make a noise at low rpms.

We have a 2010 Lariat SCrew (with 33K miles) that we bought in March of 2014. Loaded truck with all the options. Great looking vehicle, but we've had a few issues. Fortunately for us all were covered under the CPO/Extended warranty.
Cam Phasers
Blend door actuator - The driver's side failed on ours. Required the removal of the center console and the entire dash. I have heard that it is a $1,500 - $2,000 repair (maybe more.... can't remember)
Shattered rear glass due to the defroster shorting - This is mainly an issue for vehicles that have the power sliding rear glass which I assume your Platinum would have. I was fortunate that my dealer went to bat for me and I got it covered under warranty. Others haven't been as fortunate.
That was 16 months ago and 15K miles ago (48K on the odometer now).
These were all known, yet expensive repairs if I hadn't purchased the extended warranty. This was one of those times where purchasing one of those plans worked in my favor.
Despite that, we really do enjoy the truck. It's a great driver. Very comfortable and great looking. Hoping that all the known issues have been addressed and we're good for a while.

Look for the rear end chatter when turning right or left from a dead stop if it has a limited slip. Doesn't seem specific to 2010 as I am seeing many years have had it. Didn't show up during my limited test drive on mine but noticed on the way home. We bought it out of town. Had the fluid changed but hasn't helped yet. The Ford dealer I took it to said rear clutch packs need replacing because of chatter during turning. Going to talk to a transmission shop and see about after market alternative such as Eaton or if I should just stick with Ford.
Also check the rear window realy well up at the top of the headliner. Mine started leaking after I got it. Also found out it was a common issues.
Good luck. Just passing a few issues I have had with mine since getting it. Like the trick alot otherwise.
