this argument makes no sense if we aren't clarifying between 4.6 2v and 3v.

Lots of panties in bunches!

I've had and have some very fast vehicles. The 4.6 3v is a very capable engine. I have no problem passing people with my truck. You just need to know how to drive the thing. The 4.6 delivers it's max tq and HP at higher revs than the 5.4. It likes to rev! The 5.4 delivers its maxes at lower RPM which means you don't need to hammer on it as much to get the power out of it. With the optioins I have, my truck can tow 9300lbs and has a GVWR of approximately 13300lbs. My gas mileage does suck though. Haven't seen higher than 14 mpg. This is probably due to my truck having to work a bit harder than those with the 5.4. What you feel in the 5.4 is the 46 extra ft lbs of torque. That is quite a bit though it doesn't seem like much.
