Mine is black with the backup camera.

 

I just finished replacing mine with the panel, and it comes in primed metal. I won't be having mine matched because the Line-X is going in on Monday. No pics here, but if you look here http://www.f150online.com/forums/200...le-line-x.html you will see a picture of it with spray on bedliner.
The one thing you will have to do for this is trim two pieces that are used to reinforce the plastic liner off of the trim piece for the tailgate step. No big deal, but it helps to know. Otherwise you will be wondering why your part doesn't fit.

I replaced the plastic panel and ditched the old man handle. Panel is metal. Paint or not, it's no biggie if your having it lined.

 

If the dealer is offering to switch the tailgate for you, why cant they switch the handle too?

 

I love my (old) man step, too. Wish they would have thought of it years ago. At 6'4", I can step up to the tailgate, but knees ain't what they used to be.

 

I am getting my new 2010 F-150, 4 X 4, supercab XLT with the XTR package this week and this feature is not on it. I saw it on a video and seems very useful.

I will ask for the cost of adding it on, I am 60 yrs old, live in Canada's smallest Province (Prince-Edward-Island) and I don't need the truck for work. It is mainly to do our gardening (we haul 7 to 10) loads of earth & multch, + trees, schrubs, etc.

I was wondering if the earth would get stuck in it? Does it work in the cold?

 

Works fine in the cold. I imagine that dirt getting inside the tailgate is possible, but in the cost/benefit analysis, the pull-out step and handle outweighs cleaning out dirt from time to time or taking care to avoid getting it in there in the first place.

 

i love the step too. not sure about the handle yet though. I may end up going the route of the above link and taking hte handle off. but the step is a must have!!

 

I bought a 2010 f150 quadcab 4x4 without the step and camera. They did not have any in stock and was not sure when they would get any. I live in Tucson,AZ. and would like to trade my tailgate for a tailgate with a step and camera. If anyone knows where I can buy a tailgate with the step and camera please email.
