Default Tailgate squeak?

Mine has been doing this on the passenger side latch area for a few months now. I have been spraying it down with white lithium grease and it seems to clear it up for a few weeks.
Is there a more permenant fix?
I may ask the dealer to look into it when I go in for next oil change.

Thanks!

Mine squeaks. I think its due to the play in the latch and the stud. I was going to adjust the stud but I dont have a star drive that is big enough.

a spray grease probably wears off too fast. get some marine grease (more resistant to water) in a small tub or tube and be generous with it. worked for me.

Great, thanks.
I got the white lithium grease spray when I was up a Ford Carlisle in June and I couldn't ride with the rear window open...was driving me nuts!

mine squeaks on the passenger side if I just shut it. It is very irritating. Usually if I open and then forcefully shut it - it is quiet.
Works for now - but will have to revisit when that no longer works.

My fix was to replace the latch.
