My 09 F150 didn't come with the Tailgate step. I asked if the step could be added as a dealer installed option and my salesman said No. However, after see one, I'm beginning to think that you could order the parts and add the step on.

Does anyone know if this is possible without replacing to whole tailgate?

 

I would think you could, really though the only way is to get a parts break down and see if the tailgate frame it'self is the frame. I'm going to be modding my 06 into a tailgate step after I get my 8" inch lift in a year or two.....
