Default Tailgate ford emblem stained

I was washing the truck the other day and noticed the chrome surround on the blue ford emblem was stained and looked white. The one on the grille is fine but the one on the tailgate seems to have gotten water in under the plastic. Was just wondering if anyone else had this problem? Also was wondering if this is something that would be changed under warranty? The truck is a 2011 that i just picked up in January/12.

On a side note, the third brake light on the cab appears to have dirt or something in it, how does that happen?

Emblem definitely under warranty. Not sure if the dirt in the third brake light would be considered a problem but is still under warranty regardless.

Look at you tailights too. Mine has dirt under them as well. Im getting a big tube of silicone and sealing those things up before they leak anymore. Does your 3rd break light leak?

Dirt is migrating it's way thru your high light seal.

Next intrusion will be water!!!

Point it out to the stealer and have your Sirius antenna (if equipped) re-sealed too, cuz they are prone to water intrusion, also.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had any water get in the cab yet and i've been keeping an eye on it. The dirt seemed to be around the outside of the light not actually inside. When i was rinsing it off the dirt moved around the outside to the bottom of the light.

My 3rd brake light and tails are the same way. I think thats the little lip around the edge of the lights just holding up dirt and dust.I have taken mone off and cleaned them, but it keeps coming back. There ar several threads on here that discuss painting that area of your tails (3 brake as well probably). That should fix your 'dirt' look....

I have this EXACT problem with mine. Dealer told me it's under warranty, but it's a bit of a process to get Ford to cover it. They need to take pictures and send them to Ford and Ford has to approve it before they can replace it.
