Default TAILGATE broken

Tailgate came apart on the right side. Was rolling a bale of hay off the rear and the tailgate couldn't handle it. Called Ford a number of times and all they would do is read me the warranty and said they were sorry. The mechanics at two Ford garages and one of there body shops could not believe it happened. I'm in farm country and most people do this. I had three Tundras before the Built Tough Ford without any problems

How big is this bale? We put round bales in the back of the 150 and 250 without any problems? Sure you didn't hit it with the bale grapple?

Default BROKEN Tailgate

The bale was round maybe 500 LBS and I pushed it by hand off the back of the truck. I did not ride with the tailgate down. Hope to get pictures soon.

That must be a small round bale, most bales I see (5.5 feet tall x 5.5 wide) are from 1400 - 2000 pounds. I remember seeing the tailgate capacity at 350-400 pounds

We use to do the same thing but the bails were around 800-900 pounds. The new tailgates are only rated to handle around 400 pounds I think. It really stinks
