Default Tablet install questions?

I am liking the idea if a putting a tablet on my truck.

I do have a concern about the heat.

The truck can get over 100 degrees here in the summer months.

Do you think the tab would be able to handle the heat and not melt?

Anyone put a small computer fan behind the tablet to keep it cool?

Thanks,

Craig

Hey man i put an iPad mini in my truck and here in the socal desert its been 110 degrees everyday and for if leave the windows cracked and put the sunshades up the table will stay cool, with that being said don't park in the sun for man than a few hours or else the above temp sign will pop up however my tablet functions fine after i cool it down. So as long as ur not parked out in the sun for to long you should be fine

How long do you think you'll have the truck parked in extreme heat at a time? I have a iPad Mini float mount in my truck and have zero issues with the temperatures here in Florida.

I don't have any issues with my Nexus 7 either, but I don't leave my truck out on the sun too long. I know some of the newer iDevices will actually not work if they're too hot and will wait to cool down a bit. If I were leaving my car out in the sun a lot, I probably would be taking my Nexus with me.

I dont leave my windows down because I have enough spiders around here.

I would assume most of the day. As I am not in the truck that much during the day. Although I do park it in the shade as much as I can. Where are you all buying your replacement covers from?

Well if you get one that isn't a permanent mount, you can always remove the tablet. If I know my truck is going to be sitting some place for a while I'll take it with me or put it some place in the truck away from the sunlight.

What covers are you talking about exactly?

The radio trim piece.. Do you cut out yours to fit the tablet or can you buy them already cut. I have the little display (time and temp crap) on the top of my radio bezel unlike yours!

The radio bezel is a modified dash kit for an aftermarket radio. The float mount was added to it, filled, smoothed, painted, etc.

I also have a display above my radio although I don't know if it's the same in your truck...
