Weird. Siri is the only voice control that actually works for me.

 

For me, Sync has a few issues, but after retraining it and getting used to the commands, I find I like it more and more. With Siri, you have to have internet connectivity from what I understand, that means it is using cellular data...that always worries me.

I just got my iPhone this year and it has issues too. The mail client really isn't that great, doesn't show mail sync for "marked replied/forwarded" and you can't expand or contract folders (Blackberry did this back to the original boxes). All tech has positives and negatives. To me, it should be a simple software mod to hold the current voice button for a bit to activate Siri, or just tap once for Sync as current.

 

Sync works fine for me. I don't need my life pervaded by overpriced Apple products like everyone else seems to be begging for.

 

Six of one, half-dozen of the other... However, SYNC can't "hear" me over the sound of my exhaust when accelerating. Oh well...

 

Apple blows, I'm hoping they get better now that jobs is gone though, they have some good ideas but their desire to control and lock everything turns off smart people.

Also siri wasn't an apple invention, originally it was being developed for all platforms but apple bought it and shut down development on the rest. I've seen people use siri, and it sucks. sync isn't perfect either though, however we must have these devices to perfect the technology in the future. Voice tech its hard because there are so many different dialects and accents, its amazing Abby of it works at all really, lol!

I will say, I think it would be nice if we could change the "sync voice" in our trucks, and do some tweaks as to the Navigation icon when applicable. It's a feature all my little Garmin portables have had for years. Silly perhaps, but nice little extra bit of personalization.
