Sync updates

I have a 2011 Screw as well. I am registered on Sync my ride and look at my version yesterday and it shows that my truck was last updated March 21, 2011 - Gen1-V3.2, & day before yesterday my Sync would not connect with my phone or respond to anything. I called the # from site and navigated through to talk to a girl from In Vehicle Tech Center & found out that I should have V3.2.6...free update @ dealership, well, dealership service girl had told me that it would cost me $50 for them to plug in to find out if I need update and $97 if I wanted the update. I hung up with her and called my sales buddy and he told me that she's just a dispatcher and updates are free! He was going to report her. SMH!

You must have my Ford touch which is not applicable to the 13 sync system I am talking about.
Here's a timeline from the month my truck was built and programmed (Dec 12) and you will see my checking it a couple times from the month I bought it (Feb13) up to the dealer update version# change.
Then I gave up checking for nearly a year until Ford finally issued an update that allowed me to flash the module, the issue was all across platforms, even my wife's new 14 Escape was affected so I flashed her truck as well.
Again what I am talking about is the 2013^ to at least 14 for some vehicles with (My Ford sync) (Not My Ford Touch)
If you have a 13 with touch screen there is a different version, if you have a different year model, it will also be different.
That is all the information that I know and if you wish to know more you will have to visit your dealer or find someone with IDS and the knowledge to use it.

It sounds like you have MyFord Touch; the latest version currently available for that system is 3.6.2.

My 2013 has V4.1.2.F and Syncmyride showed it was current. I called Ford and was told V4.2.1.F is available but I would have to go to dealer to have it updated, and would likely have to pay.

I like the idea if Sync but I hate the Voice regignition Software., Here lately I can not hear the prompts. Seems like the volume goes to 2 when the transfer goes over to the software. I am tired of having the his truck is going back to Ford and they are going to fix it . I am not paying **** either! I love the truck , just hate Sync.
