SYNC update - while driving
Greetings:
I went to the myford website to register my vehicle and there is a SYNC update (V3.7) for my 2014 King Ranch.
I downloaded the zip file and prepared it according to the instructions on the site. I noted that the update takes about 1/2 hour and the truck must be running during that time. It stated the vehicle can be driven during the update but I wonder if I can still use the climate and audio functions while the update is ongoing. In particular I want to ensure I can use the heated seat function since that is embedded in the touch screen. It's quite cold here in central VA and I'd hate to sit on a cold leather seat while driving around.
I know the redundant audio and climate buttons outside of the touch screen are available but not the seat heaters.
In summary, have any of you F150 owners with MyFord Touch done the update while driving and had to forfeit the touch screen functions?
Thanks for any/all input.

I can't give you definitive answer to your question. I say crank the heat for 15 min, then go for a 15 minute ride.
I'm curious, because, for the hell of it I ran another health report and besides the module recall on MFT. The version they say is current for me is V3 6.2

YES you can still use the manual heat settings, and I believe that if you start the seat heater it will continue to stay on during the update. If my memory is correct, then the cooled seats stayed running this past summer on an update. Either way...it's not THAT cold (ok, it's 10*F this morning...brrr) but you'll survive either way...I almost guarantee that!
