This applies to the Sync 4.6 Update

SOLVED!!

Requested assistance.

The instructions given worked as directed, the first time.

Don't forget to WAIT for the SECOND "Installation Complete" prompt

The installation process took about 9 minutes.

Download the update and extract them to your USB Stick: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html

Next Follow these steps.
1. Insert the USB and press the Phone Button. You will either see PHONE MENU then PHONE REDIAL or CONNECTING.
1a. If you see CONNECTING then Scroll to RETURN and press OK.
1b. If you see PHONE MENU then PHONE REDIAL scroll to SYSTEM SETTINGS and press OK.
2. Scroll to SYSTEM SETTINGS and press OK.
3. Scroll to ADVANCED and press OK.
4. Scroll to INSTALL APP and press OK.
NOTE: To scroll through the menus use the seek arrow buttons.
When installing the update, be sure to keep your vehicle in park with the engine running until the update is complete. Also, keep the USB inserted until you get a second "SYNC Installation Complete" message.

Thanks. Worked for me on my 2012. I noticed the sound is a bit better now and Bluetooth is working much better.

I just want to know why they never changed the first "Installation Complete" to 50% Complete, etc. It's so dumb to have it say complete twice and is just asking for people to get confused.

I have not been able to get to the second complete prompt. And I have kept the USB in for an hour. It just will not take. I have a 2013 expedition.
