SYNC/radio question
Starting yesterday, when I start my truck the SYNC lady comes on and says "index full" and something about it may be unable to load new songs or something like that. Can someone smarter than me tell me whats going on? Thanks in advance for the help.
No direct knowledge of this particular notification, but, I'm curious - is this USB or Bluetooth?
Is it an iPod/iPhone or other device?
What's the storage capacity of the connected device and/or how many songs are loaded on it?
Answers to that may help find a solution...

Right now i have a droid razr connected via bluetooth. And a 120g iPod through the usb port. The ipod is only half full if that. And according to my phone i have over half of the memory left on that as well.

She gets a little screwy. I've had a couple errors. Most recently it just acted like sync wasn't installed at all. Turn off, on, and pulled the battery negative cable, nothing. Finally I unplugged the iPod from USB and turned the key off. Then back on. Maybe a couple of times and she's back. Try that. I bet you will have good luck!
You can add / remove a song from your iPod and it'll re-index everything but the problem will probably come back in a few weeks. My dealer told me Ford's Sync doesn't play well with Apple devices (even though mine was squarely on the compatibility chart). I was recommended to just get a thumb drive. For $7 (shipped) I got a mini-USB drive from Amazon and use iTunes Sync (3rd party software) to sync up the software to the thumb drive. Super easy but the thumb drive hasn't let me down (its been many months since I last had the problem with the iPod and I've never had the problem with the thumb drive). Might be something to consider.

Before I left work I unplugged me ipod prior to starting my truck. As stated above it was indeed the ipod causing the issue. I like the idea of just using a usb stick instead so I think that will be my next option. Thanks for the help folks!
