Default Sync Phone with USB2 Issue...

Hey guys... I really need your help... I did a search all over the site and wasn't able to find anything...

Just the the USB2 mod a week or so ago and now I'm having issues trying to use my phone via Sync Voice Command.

Here's the deal... I have a Droid X that has been working with NO issues... I could call / receive / txt, etc... with no issues... a week or so ago, I did the USB2 mod and everything was honky dorie...

The issue is... from the sync main menu, I say "phone" and Trixie (Sync chick as I call her), say's "USB2"... the issue appears to be the when I say Phone, it automatically goes to USB2 every time.

- I've removed the phone and re-added it...nothing...
- I can use every other feature BUT the phone... climate, audio, NAV, etc..
- I can receive call's when I get them
- I can manually dial the phone and use bluetooth to have a conversations

But when I say "phone" from the menu, it goes to USB2 everytime... the ONLY thing I have not tried was disconnecting the battery and trying that...

Anyone run into this... or have any suggestions....?

Does it work if you press the phone button on your steering wheel then press the voice button and say a command like call home?

That's how I've always made calls.

Thats how I always make my call's as well... but your bring up a good point that I forgot to mention.... when I hit the phone button on the dash, (not the steering wheel), it will bring up the phone... the issue appears to be with the "phone voice command"....

I never say "phone" though.

For example I usually am listening to music on my USB so if I need to make a call I press the phone button on my steering wheel then press the voice button and say "call home". When done I press the phone button for a cople seconds and it hangs up and goes back to playing my USB music.

What's the reasoning for saying the phone command? Am I missing features by not doing so? Every time I try to sit down and read my Sync manual I fall asleep.

LOL... Yeah, I'm the same way with the manual... however, I think I'm missing something...

If I recall... if I'm listening to music and hit the phone button on the steering wheel, I HAVE to say phone first, then call home... are you saying that you are able to just hit the button and say "call home" where ever you are in the menu...? hmmmm... maybe I should sit down and read that manual... I'm sure I'm missing something...

But on a side note... I was out troubleshooting my issue and found something... Last week I removed my ipod and brough it in the house to add another playlist and never put it back in the truck... but for giggles... I thought that I would just install it and try the phone thing again...and sure enough...it WORKED...!! when my device was plugged in, I was able to hit the button for the phone and it went right in.... when I removed it again, it did the same thing... it went right to USB2....

I'm not sure why that is.... I guess I'll have to sit tomorrow and read that manual...

I never press the "Phone" button. I press that "talking" looking button and say "call blah, blah, blah" and it calls correctly, even when I'm listening to music from my USB drive.

When I press the phpne button on yjr steering wheel it just goes into the phone menu. When I make a call I hit the media button, say phone, and say call home or blah, blah, blah.

Okay...need help.. are you guys saying that when listening to music, you can hit the Voice Button on the steering wheel and just say, "Call Home"... WITHOUT saying phone first...?

I just went out and tried it...thinking that I might have overlook it...but doing it that way does not work for me... I even confirmed my settings for voice and they are set to Advanced...

Thoughts...?

In addtion... I also just deleted my Sync Profile and created a new one... Plus, you guys have me reading the manual now...and even the manual say's that you First have to say "phone", then "call home"...etc...

Aside from the 15 minutes out of my life that I'll never get back creating a new voice profile, is there something else that I'm missing...??

When listening to music I press the phone button to bring up the phone menu - then I press the voice button and say "call home".
