That's odd. I wonder why.

My 2010 Sync and Galaxy S3 will not work with texting either. If someone finds an answer...Please PM Me or post it up!

The reason is generally simple. The manufacturers are not implementing the Bluetooth standard fully or are doing it wrong. Generally these are device specific bugs though in some cases a sync bug comes into play too.

I wonder what the chances are of getting Verizon to upgrade my GSIII to 4.2.2. Or if that is even possible?

Not without a custom ROM

Each carrier dictates the rollout of updates. But I can confirm that CM10.1 works with it also.

As well as Liquid and PacMan

Did they say the GS3 w/ 4.1.2 doesn't work? Or just 4.1.2 on any phone doesn't work?

My Note 2 is on 4.1.2 and it worked perfectly on my 2011 FX2 and now works perfectly on my 2013 Platinum I just picked up yesterday.

Are you saying you can respond to text messages via Sync, and the "canned" response will actually make it to the originator (mobile device) that originated the message (sent it to you) ?

( This is a known bug in Sync that showed up after an update by Ford. They swapped the originator number with the destination number. So the response goes back to YOUR phone, not the sender's. )

They said any 4.1.2 BUT remember I have a 2009 so that might also be the difference in yours and mine
