SYNC Module Location
I was wondering if anybody knows the exact location of the SYNC module on a 2012 FX4. Mine has the full center console with shifter and a speaker in the center of the dash (Sony sound) where the module was on my 2012 XLT.
I did a search here but all I could find was the location in the upper dash below the tray. I believe my module is somewhere inside the console or just in front of it but want to make sure what all I have to remove before getting started.
Thanks!

You are correct, I just took the tray out and checked; what a relief!
I just bought a OEM navigation kit for my truck and the instruction state that I might have to splice some wires on the SYNC module if the navigation voice isn't audible. I sure didn't feel like taking the center console puzzle apart.
Well, I read the installation instruction again and probably have to mess with my center console anyway. There is a chance that I have to splice some wires on the Sony amp which is supposed to be inside the console.
Have fun with that...
Its really not too bad...

I had to splice into the SYNC wires when I put navigation in my 12 XLT. Wasn't all that bad, at least the module is easy to access.
It'll be another week or so before I get to do it. Right now my wife keeps me busy with her indoor and outdoor Xmas decoration which has priority over my truck (in her eyes anyway). I will post some pictures when I am done and got everything working.
Thanks for everybody's input.......great forum here!
