I updated my SYNC in June 2015. Never had an issue on my 2012 but when I started the truck 2 days ago the SYNC screen said "Initializing". I knew then something was screwy. Sure enough...it won't recognize voice commands (like it's deaf) and when I manually change it to Bluetooth it connects for a second then says "Bluetooth device disconnected". I un-paired my phone, I'll re-pair it after work tonight. If that doesn't cure it I'll pull the fuse and see if that fixes it. Short of that I could re-load the latest SYNC...although I'd probably be better off doing a Master Reset and return it to factory specs. When I did the upgrade in June I lost the USB2 input option, the port still charges but there is no USB2 prompt anymore. Thanks Ford! (Sarcasm)

@alpinestar1123 my truck does the SAME thing!! And now, I'm having that problem PLUS all of the problems that @RogueGT is having with his SYNC. I've already called SYNC Customer Support just to see if they could do anything, and of course, they just referred me to the dealer. And I've already checked the Ford Owner website and my SYNC software is up to date. I'm trying to decide whether to pull the fuse or just take it to the dealer. The problem with taking it to the dealer is the dealers in my area SUCK and they take FORREEVERRR to fix anything. Even when I "schedule an appointment", it does me no good. Lol. (sigh) Oh, Ford.

Can anyone tell me this? When I am listening to music from a memory stick in the USB port and I shut my truck off, then restart it, sometimes sync continues with the memory stick and sometimes it switches to radio.

check www.syncmyride.com and login. See if there's an update. I thought all versions of sync now showed the meta data from whatever is playing.

Yeah I checked that a little while ago. Says I was up to date. It did work when on my Droid Razor and when I first got my Turbo. I think it stopped working when I did the stupid update on my phone. Seam like every time they "update" these phones it screws them up.

Thanks for being so helpful, Rnlcomp! I just want to chime in. I also suggest checking your Owner account for updates: Owner.Ford.com Once you're logged in, select the SYNC & HOW TOS tab then CHECK FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES. If you're software is current, please work with your dealer to get the issue resolved.

Hi Shaay. We appreciate the steps Ford has taken to improve Sync. Can we expect further updates down the line to enhance functionality? There's been improvements, but this is honestly pretty unacceptable for a vehicle made in 2014 that stickers at almost $50k. Base model trucks from competitors offer better audio features. I realize it's not your fault personally, but I hope you guys relay this feedback to those that are at fault.

Hi caniscream,

I'm unable to speculate on future updates, but our engineers are always working on improvements. No system will be forgotten. Keep an eye out on our Media site for announcements: Media.Ford.com

I also suggest sharing your feedback on our Social site: Social.Ford.com

Thanks Shaay. I've done both of those things.
