SYNC + iPhone4 = sucks!

Iphone4 and sync work well together with the following exceptions:
1. If you are bluetooth paired but NOT listening to bluetooth streamed music, you will not get audible alerts for texts, voicemails, or app notifications. Only vibration. The reason an earlier poster has not noticed this problem is, as he stated, he is almost always listening to bluetooth streaming.
2. If listening to bluetooth streaming music you cannot use the smart sync voice command music searches. This requires a hard connection.

I can't get bluetooth music streaming to work for me anyway so is there a way to turn this feature off so I can get my audible alerts back? I want my phone connected to use the calling feature but can I get this and still get my alerts? Thanks eye.surgeon.
