This is the Sync I have.

Am I stuck with this or will it ever be updated. I have updated all except to 4.6 which I know is all internal stuff.

I don't have any issues with it. But every time I go to Ford site and enter all my info on MyFord it shows the next version.

Just wondering.

 

Only Ford knows, but since Sync 3 is out, I doubt there will be much, if any updates to the older hardware.

Also, there is no chance of Sync 3 coming to older hardware because it is an entirely new operating system that the older hardware cannot support.

When did S3 come out. 2013?

 

Certain late model 2015's and new 2016-17 have Sync 3

 

So is the one on mine know as "Sync 2" or just "Sync with voice nav"

Although SYNC 3 is out, we haven't forgotten about our previous systems. Support will continue and updates will be released when needed.

Officially, I think it is considered Sync 2, although I would personally consider it "Sync 1" if you are looking at it from a hardware perspective (eg. map updates on DVD instead of SD Card). I consider Sync 2 to be the 4.2" display and 8" MFT display that uses maps on SD cards. Sync 3 is the brand new one that has maps build into the unit and has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
