Default SYNC Bluetooth won't connect

I am having trouble and I hope someone can help me out. I have a 2013 XLT with SYNC and the 4.3" stereo. It has always worked for me and the new update fixed one of the biggest issues I had which was the bluetooth reconnecting. But now on Tuesday, I started having an issue.

The truck initially connected to my phone and acted as though it was there. But I called for Bluetooth Audio and it wouldn't change. I was yelling at the truck and it still wouldn't start playing. So then I tried to call it up through the menu and it would say Bluetooth Media Disconnected or something like that.

So I figured the pairing had flaked out. I deleted the phone from the truck and the SYNC connection from my phone. When I tried to repair, it would tell me to find SYNC, which never shows up on my phone and the PIN never shows up on the screen. The process just silently dies and it goes back to the Add Bluetooth Device screen.

I have tried this with multiple devices and got the same results. I then did a Master Reset of the stereo and Reset the Network Connections on the phone. Still the same result when I try to pair the phone. Has anyone got any ideas on what may be going on and how I can fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Had a rental truck that did something similar. Disconnected battery for 15 minutes or so allowing all memory to be reset and it to truly be taken back to nothing and did it and it worked fine after that.

Thanks man. I did that and all is back to normal. My tune even seems to be running better. Hahahaha.

I think you hurt your truck's feelings by yelling at it.

that happened to me on my 2013 FX4. in settings there's a master reset (or something close to that) which reset the Sync and I was able to connect again. kind of harsh doing a full battery pull, that's probably what hurt your trucks feelings.

Thanks DonTas. I tried the master reset from the radio first and it didn't work for me. That's when I proceeded to the harsh battery pull.

I've also heard of pulling the fuse for Sync only.

Sometimes you just have to re-boot it like a computer.

This new Stync update seems better in some ways, but about once every 4-6 weeks I have this same situation happen and the only fix is yanking the battery cable for a few minutes.
