Default Sync and bluetooth trouble

My Iphone (3G) only connects occasionally. I've tried deleting the phone from the sync, and deleting sync from my phone, then re-pairing. Works for a day (maybe) and then SOS. Even when it does "work", the music will completely drop out for a second at a time every couple of minutes. I've updated the sync software with no joy. Of course when the Bluetooth Audio isn't working, neither is the phone. Sure hope I never need that automatic 911 they talk about! Also, with no particular pattern to it, occasionally sync cannot hear my voice commands, even with fan off and windows up. Is this normal, or do I have a bad one. 'Course I'm expecting that the dealer will say it must be my phone.

It probably is your phone. My 4 has problems occasionally. Do you use other bluetooth devices with your phone? Speakers, headphones, other cars. headsets? Are you playing music and making calls often with it? You may need to restore your phone's software. Are you running IOS 4? sync is pretty solid for my voice recognition. Have you set up a custom profile? It takes about 20 minutes, but it has eliminated most of my problems.

iphones are known to do this with Sync. Mine connects automatically probably 2/3 times but it randomly switches between automatically playing my Ipod (which I dont want) and playing pandora when I have to tell it Bluetooth-Audio

mine has only disconnected once and not connected one other time. Both times, I took the key out and finished a conversation until the interior electronics shut off. IOW, my fault.

It will always play whatever you have playing last OR the iPod as a default. If it's been a while since you've played pandora, it will forget. I keep an iPod in the car and only play pandora through my phone, so it does this to me too. Not a big deal to switch over.

I've been having trouble too. My evo 4g only connects automatically some of the time. works great if I turn bluetooth off and back on again on my phone. What was that about setting up a custom profile?

Just upgraded iPhone to the new 4S and much better luck with connecting. But EVERY TIME I get in the truck it goes to Sync Line In, even though I had been playing ipod when I got out (or Pandora, doesn't matter). I don't even have to walk away; just turning off the key and opening the door to shut down the radio makes it go to Line In when I restart. Frustrating, but still better than before.

I never know what to expect from SYNC and my iPhone 4S. It's always a surprise. Today I selected "line in" and it said "no device detected." So I manually started a playlist from my phone and it played through the line in? LOL I said "call Sam" and it gave me the whole rigamarole about "Say call and then the name of who to call, blah blah." So I just pressed the fast dial on my phone and the call went through SYNC. Half the time SYNC appears not to detect the bluetooth connection until after I manually make a call.

On the positive side, it always handles incoming calls perfectly which is the most important thing to me.

my only trouble with sync was that if it had trouble figuring out what i said it would call my ex by default, which freaked me out lol! had to delete that number/name from my phone. I use a galaxy s2. no connecting problems at all.

I had no trouble connecting my 4s to sync and using it to stream music and make calls, but it will not alert me over sync of incoming text messages. My Droid X that I had previously would alert me and then read the text. I'm probably doing something wrong the 4s but I haven't figured it out yet.

I have an iPhone 3GS and my Bluetooth audio only works when it wants too also. It's annoying as hell. The phone will work but the iPod won't. I don't know if it's the truck or my phone. The phone will say it's connected to the truck but the truck won't recognize the phone.
