Default Sync and Android 4.4.2 issues

Prior to the 4.4.2 update everything worked great for the last year. After update I couldn't get the phone to connect. I've erased all pairings, reset the phone, re-paired (which is now a different process, accepting a code instead of typing in the sync supplied one) but I still cannot get a connection, just pairing.

Anyone have any advanced trouble shooting techniques?

Hi kydsid,

Have you removed the phone from SYNC before pairing it back up? It's important to delete the prior Bluetooth relationship before attempting to create a fresh pairing, otherwise the system will attempt to resume the prior connection. You could also attempt a master reset, if clearing all Bluetooth histories don't seem to work. PM your VIN if you need some direction on how to do any of this.

Mine was the same process as usual. Type in the code from the truck to pair. But mine is a custom ROM on a galaxy nexus so that may change things. But 4.4 is working fine with sync for me. I'd definitely try doing a sync reset and repair.

Yes I had deleted all pairings on both devices as in said in the first post. I don't think the pairing was really being deleted on one or the other device though. Deleted everything again, reset phone again, and pulled negative battery cable on truck and this morning the pairing worked correctly and security questions for access to phone book etc appeared on phone correctly, unlike yesterday. Connection completed and worked. Hopefully it stays that way.

kysid,

Glad to hear it. Keep me posted if anything becomes persistent.
