So with the help of this post I am now able to listen to text again in my truck and the wife's Edge. However no luck in sending responses back or from my truck. I am wondering if it's because I have it set to use iMessage instead of SMS?
What is important is in the phone bluetooth menu. See pics
Message notifications must be ON in the sync phone menu. This is in the truck SYNC menu
MAP Profile must be ON in System setting ADVANCED in sync menu.
Texts must be able to show up in locked screen on iphone.
In the iphone under... Settings/Notication Center/ Messages/ Show in lock screen must be on.
Sync will only notify you when one comes in if iphone screen is locked.
Mine stopped for a few weeks after I turned the show in locked screen setting off. Now it works again after turning that back on.

3 YEARS of no sync text messages because I hadn't flipped one little notification button!! I feel like such an idiot! Thanks so much for the advice!! IT WORKS!!!

Try a clean pairing to your phone using Tip #3: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...th-myford.html Because this is a setting that needs to be activated on the phone, you will need contact Apple to see what's going on if this doesn't work. Keep me posted.
