I'm using a USB with just tunes & I've got them separated by artist & then by album. Sync doesn't seem to care because it still has several songs as "unknown" because they don't specify artist & album. I've been meaning to pull it & update the info for those songs just haven't yet.

It works well so far, but I am still learning though.

If I'm not mistaken you simply load MP3's on the stick. I actually copy the folders created when I rip music using Windows Media Player. The system should read and index everything on the drive. The exact explanation and instructions are in the "Sync Supplement Guide" (http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pub.../08sycsy1e.pdf)

If you "tag" your MP3s correctly with ID3 tags, it might not matter how you put them on the flash. Check out MP3 tag software to prep your mp3 files correctly.

Sync is totally MP3 tag dependent. You could put a thousand songs all on the root folder and as long as they are properly tagged, Sync will catalog them.

I currently have a little over 1200 songs on my flash drive. I have created folders such as: Country - Rock - 80's etc. That way I can go to the explore USB option and choose just country if that is what I want to listen to or I can play all and hit shuffle. Hope this helps.

It works just fine. Only thing is, you have to go to explore usb to browse folders and categories. So yes, you have to manually make categories. The menus on the deck such as Playlists, artists, genres, that didn't work for me when I used a flash drive. I just received a microsoft zune HD as a gift and it works great with sync. I have full control of my zune from the deck. Playlists, genres, artists, albums, everything is functional. I assume ipod would be the same.

Yes Pandora will work via bluetooth. It will even play videos from you tube, etc.
