I'm just heading into work and don't have time to search but I didn't wanna forget this question.

Can you swap the rear window controls in a crew cab to have auto down or up on all four Windows?

I remember one or two guys using Taurus parts on the ranger site to do this for the passenger window.

The switches are mounted on a singular panel and are not individual switches. It's doable by either buying modules used for alarm systems or I believe there is a kit made for mustangs that others have used. It's just not an easy swapping of switches.

I figured some splicing of wires was needed.

The auto feature is built in to the window motors themselves, they contain individual processors that handle the task, the only way I know of to get the auto up/down is an aftermarket kit.

i have often wondered this too. such a simple feature, but it would be nice to be able to just auto up the window. All that effort to hold the switch for 3 seconds is killing me. lol
Seriously tho, I'm with the OP on this one, really wish it was a simple mod.

In my Escort ZX2, the one touch down was controlled by a relay, guys were easily converting the passenger side to one touch down easily. I'll have to find the thread on TeamZX2 and perhaps it's something similar for the F150, although RNL says it's built into the motor...I don't know about that either.

Agreed, if it was easy as swapping a circuit or a relay out. I would totally do it

I do know about it, and it's true. I wonder if the front door motors would bolt in the rear doors, I'm thinking they wont because it's a different regulator but it might be possible. Here's the procedure for deactivating/activating the built in electronics straight out of the Ford shop manual.

Fascinating! Thanks. I wonder if they do have the same bolt in foot print. Would be a lot of work for a one touch for the rears, but maybe the electronics are already built in for the one touch but the switch lacks the functionality because of the two step?

I find the auto front windows to be too slow to respond to stop commands.
