Gears would definitely help, but does your truck have a tranny cooler and the bigger radiator?

If you don' change gears I'd lock out 6th gear and maybe even 5th with your current gearing.

If the trailer is 7,500 dry, you need a new truck, yours is only rated to tow 8,500 if it is a supercrew.
