Just curious, as I have a reg cab with no console, and already column shifter,

But, why the shift (get that, I'm funny too) from floor to column, seems like some work and cost, what's so bad about floor shifter !

I didn’t like the console shifter, too big and ugly, plus it takes up space. IMO a console shifter belongs in a car, not a truck.

I'm with ya. After 2 column shift trucks I thought I'd love a console shift truck. Until I had one. For a couple years I owned a 2013 Platinum and I hated the console shifter. I regularly found myself contemplating a similar swap as you did. In the end the truck was a p.o.s. and I didn't keep it long enough to do it. Now I'm in a column shift XLT and all is right in the world again.

I like the column shift just for the extra seat up front it gives me. If we have to carry stuff in the back seat that wouldn't go into the bed, it's nice to be able to throw a kid up front.

Console shifter is a great place to rest your hand and arm. 😁

When I sold my manual car and bought a Lincoln with a push button shifter on the dash, I struggled for a long time with where to put my hand. It felt weird flopping around with nothing to grab onto...

I got in the habit of resting my arm on it when messing with the radio or climate controls, but not really when driving.

I never realized how often I rest my hand on the column shifter while driving, until I bought my Platinum. I am one of the minority here who just dislikes the console shifter.
