I cut the factory antenna. Popped the ball off, filed the new end down to a point and re-installed the ball. Got tired of it hitting in the garage. Works fine.

I've got the antenna x 14 inch. I Think It Looks Good And I Haven't Really noticed a big loss in reception. However, I don't listen to radio much, so probably not the best judge on that. It seems a little cheaply made but it works for me.

Exactly, I cut my stock antenna off at 13" painted the end and it works just fine.

How did you pop the ball off?

I went with this one:
Amazon.com: ABL 3 inch / 76 mm JDM BLACK SHORT UNIVERSAL ANTENNA CARBON FIBER: Automotive Amazon.com: ABL 3 inch / 76 mm JDM BLACK SHORT UNIVERSAL ANTENNA CARBON FIBER: Automotive

Reception is fine for the local stations when I do FM. It's $6, why not try it? If you aren't happy, you're only out $6.

I just installed the stubby antenna yesterday. Got it from Amazon. Looks so much better than the Stock antenna that makes the truck look like an R/C car.

No loss in signal. Very happy and worth the $25.
