Default Strange Recall, stranger fix

I just got a recall letter for my 2011 2WD 3.7 XLT. Safety Recall Notice 16S19/NHTSA Recall 16V-248. Anyone else get this one?

OK its for an intermittent failure of the OSS. So the Computer may believe the truck is about to stop even though you could be flying down the hwy.

Transmission then could shift to first gear. Man, that just sounds like all kinds of bad!

Ok so there is no fix right now so I should just wait. Unless the transmission is already hinky.........

Now the plan. Ford is developing software to prevent the transmission from shifting into first should the OSS decide to crap out.

Why not replace the OSS with a better one that wont be prone to this failure?

The same exact issue happened on my 2013, but was due to a tech crushing a wiring harness while fixing a minor transmission noise issue. Shifting to 1st at 65mph, scared the poo out of me and almost got rear-ended! never had my wheels lock up at that speed before!
