Default DRLs not working

My new to me XL 2010 Scab has a couple mysteries.

The window sticker states:

Power Black Mirrors:
XL Plus Package: $450
Power Equipment Group: $995
Day Time Running Lamps: $45

I have the sensor on the top of the dash by the package tray.
I do not have the autolamp headlight switch.

The DRLs do not work, or the Autolamp.

I have an autolamp switch on order, I do not have fog lamps, so the switch I ordered does not have that function.

I did not receive keyfobs when I bought the truck. I had a couple that I bought about 7 years ago and never used. Surprisingly, I was able to program them, even with the 7 year old batteries.

When I press unlock, the interior light and park lights come on, but not the headlights. When I press lock, they go out. As part of the Power Equipment Package, I should have illuminated entry.

Everything else seems to be in place and functioning.

My theory is that the headlamp switch went out and because it is an XL, the PO bought a base XL switch, so the truck has the wrong switch in it for the DRL and illuminated entry options.

That's the only think I can figure out on why those options are not working.

Anything else I should check?

DRL could be turned off by a dealer. My headlights do not turn on when I unlock the doors, only parking and cargo lamps illuminate. Even when I had my DRLs activated my headlights wouldn't come on when I unlocked the doors. DRLs are activated or disabled in IDS.

I not had much personal experience with this, but I seem to recall that the DRLs do not come on in park.

So, pull up close to a wall or something reflective, turn the headlight switch to off and put it in gear to see if the DRLs come on.

If not, it should be a quick check to see if there is a blown fuse, since DRL is usually fused separate.

Correct. Mine didn't turn on until I put it into gear.

True, if the truck was purchased from a Canadian dealer and exported to the states. There is a chance the dealer set it up so the DRL was disabled.

OP where are you located? You didn't put it in your avatar area.
My lights also do this. Map lights, puddle and parking lights come on and stay on for a certain time. I believe this is the power equipment package and that's illuminated entry.

Correct, if my truck is running and in park, my lights don't come on.

OP, why did you buy new switches? I have a feeling you didn't need to.

Also, you mentioned about buying new fobs. This is a question for those who know, when did Ford start putting the fob into the key for the f150?

If your truck was a XL the original buyer of the truck might not have been given that option. I hope that someone knows the answer on this.

The power equip package might just have been power locks and windows

I believe key/fob combo started with 2011. I know 2009 had a separate fob.

Im In Macon GA, the truck was originally sold in Grayson KY.

I figured out that the illuminated entry and DRls are working. I did not have the daylight sensor on the dash, when I looked I saw a raised bump so I figured that I did, turns out the cap was not seated in the hole and it looked like it was raised.

I bought the sensor and switch because I want automatic headlights. My misses Mustang has them and I have gotten used to having them.

Those two items came in today and I installed both in about 10min. Tonight I will see if they are working properly.
