Default Stock good year sra's input

Looking at 2010 wheels and tires for a winter set on my 05. I was wondering what the owners of the 09-10's have to say about the goodyear sra's in the 275 65 18's on the stock wheels.. they get bad reviews on tires sites.. are they really that bad? Any winter driving experience?

I have had good luck from them both on and off road. We are supposed to get a few flurries over the next two days so I will have a chance to rate their winter performance. The only complaint I have is that they catch a lot of small rocks and have a hard time dislodging them.

Im not a fan, they look ok but they suck in functionality in my opinion I had them on a jeep liberty and thought they were terrible in the rain and snowy conditions. I have them again on my 09 I cant wait to replace them.

Don't really get alot of snow or ice down here in Texas but they do love to pick up gravel and sling it at the wheel wells so I'm not terribly excited about that aspect of them but otherwise they seem okay

I have over 7500 miles on mine and they are wearing very well and for an inexpensive, general purpose OE hwy tire, they can be rated as 'Good' IMO.

I have had them in two good rain storms now and they have performed well for me on the fwy in hard rain and areas of standing water in the lane.

I have had them in light snow one time so far this season and again they were stable on the hwy.

If you look at the tread pattern/construction, you will see that they use a softer rubber and there is a lot of siping in a tread face that is designed to disperse water. These are all factors indicitive of a tire with good wet weather (rain) performance.

I am going to replace them because they are not aggressive enough for moderate off road use and I just want a larger/stronger tire for my likes and use in the environment I live and play in.

I wish Ford would offer more choices on off road A/T type tires from the factory. In years past they did, but now it seems you get what you get based on the packages and wheel size you order. It might be just too much of headache for them to juggle multiple tire types and sizes to make it worthwhile, business wise.

I'll likely go with Pirelli Scorpions on my xlt, these are the Platinum oem tire, iirc.

I have them on my 09 and I can't wait to change them. They are not even close to looking like tires on a truck should look.
