Default Still in the Drone Zone

If I had kept my stock muffler, it would likely be going back on...

2013 with a V8. The factory resonator forward is still same-same.

I dropped the factory muffler, and put in a Flowmaster Delta 50. It sounded pretty good, but had 1700 to 2000 rpm drone.

Swapped that out to a Borla Pro XS. Still drone, just not quite as bad.

Added a Vibrant Quiet Resonator. Still drone.

What deep tone rumble sound muffler will not drone???

corsa/volant, large case magnaflow, How do you have it exiting? This plays a role as well

Borla on my 6.2 got rid of all the drone. You would need to see if they will sell just the S type muffler, I have the whole Borla Exhaust on mine.

It dumps right at the axle. Have not decided if I want dual pipes back or dual to the side.

The Borla is a 3 inch in, dual 2.5 out.

What I may try is running just the Vibrant resonator and see what I get...

That does actually drone much less. But I do not care for the tone. Or the pops and crackles.

I have an 18" Magnaflow with dual pipes out the right side like a 1st gen Raptor. Everything in front of the muffler is stock. My son replaced his stock muffler with smaller (louder) Magnaflow, no drone.

This thread interests me as well, since I would like a little more bark out of my 2020 5.0 also, but with no drone.

Here's my problem though: I previously owned a Mustang GT, and I installed axle-backs that many reviewers claimed were no drone. They must've been deaf, because there certainly was 2,000 RPM drone. Now I'm hesitant to modify the stock exhaust!

My F150 came with the Roush already installed on it by the previous owner, after driving from Front Royal Virginia to Knoxville Tennessee the Roush was nicknamed the Drone Master. It has a Borla Touring on it right now and no drone.

Same Roush was cool at first but after about 3 years it became unbearable. Running MBRP side exit now. Night and day difference.
