If that EcoBoost was $2,000 more than the 5.0, I would say go with the 5.0. For the price though, it is of my opinion (and my wife's too it seems) that the EcoBoost is the only way to go. Not only was the turbo response and power so much more enjoyable, but we took identical, low traffic, 65 MPH average 30 mile trips each way since the dealer was a bit of a ways away, and averaged 3mpg better with mixed highway/city driving on the Eco. We put some gas in it at the same station near the dealer in each truck to try and keep things even.
3mpg over the next few years can add up quick, especially if we see another up turn in fuel prices.
The 5.0 did have a damn nice sound to it. Only time I liked the Eco better in that way was when I had the driver window down and could, although lightly, hear the turbos spool up.
If it's possible, I definitely say get the V6 unless of course all you want more than anything from the truck is the V8 rumble, then the 5.0 is a damn good choice.
My older brother has a raptor with the 6.2, and every time he fires it up.. shivers shoot down my spine lol
I'm sure the 3.5 TT is fun to drive and ballzy but I've just always wanted a v8. Thanks for your input

I took both out for a drive and actually went looking to buy the eco boost just because i thought hey turbo, power, etc. My thought on the eco was it goes like stink and is so quiet. you wouldnt know how fast your going if you didnt look at the speedo. The 5.0L on the other hand reminded me of my 5.4 with a magnaflow cat back kit. It has that awesome V8 rumble and if your not side by side with the eco boost it feels just as fast. And my dealer told me they are getting as good nd sometimes better mileage then the eco. I was sold. And have not been dissapointed. And after hearing that the eco is un-tunable makes me grin from ear to ear!!! That and no matter what u do to make that truck sound better it will still sound like a v6. If u want to hear a turbo buy a diesel.
