Default Squeaky tailgate! Gah!!!

As the title reads. My 2008 had the same issue. Does anybody have a fix for this?

Basically you know how your tailgate has a slight amount of play in it while closed? Mine squeaks like crazy. I can't even have my rear cab window open because it drives me bat sh@t insane.

Is there a way to adjust the play? A rubber bumper or something?

I've been to the dealer and they "lube" it. Works great for roughly 18 minutes then its back to squeaking.

I work out of this thing and I have a factory 3 fold on it. I'm not really happy with it and was thinking of a roll an lock. If a roll will cut down the squeaks it will move up my priority list quickly.

Any help appreciated. Putting my ear plugs back in now.

Give it a solid slam shut when closing. Also put some lithium grease on the gate parts

Mine had the same issue. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the man step and normal, so they wouldn't do anything about it. One day I put a paper towel around the bar the tailgate latches too and it went away, it was HEAVEN! I took it to the dealer and showed them the issue and they fixed it immediately, I believe they made a few adjustments and it never squeaked again. I understand your pain, I never ever used that power window for sanity's sake....

My issue is that since I changed my rear shocks I hear every movement that the tailgait makes. The new shocks have poly bushings. Every bump causes a rattle from the step in my tailgate. Love the ride but hate the noise. I guess I will learn to live with it.

On my 2009 I had to SLAM my tailgate or it would squeak while driving. Same problem as you... couldn't even have the rear window open or I would go insane.

Haven't had the issue yet on my 2013.
